YELLOW MELLOW || EDGY CHIC || How to wear a Zara bodycon dress PART 1
09:42
So here is a funny, well not so funny story about this dress. Im sure everyone has done this at some point in time when shopping. You know when you see something you like, try it on and then decide not to buy it? Well, thats what I did with this Zara bodycon dress. I laid eyes on it and wasnt too sure of the colour but tried it on nevertheless. I mean YELLOW?? Its so hard to miss. I then decided that the colour was a tad bit too bright for my liking so I left it. Haa! Worst mistake ever. Thing is the dress was on sale and i couldn't stop thinking about it all week. I felt like a fool for not getting it and kept praying that I would find it. We all know how clothes we dont buy haunt us! Nightmares I tell you. And add on to my stress I kept thinking of how merchandize moves quick when prices are low. Anyway I guess this dress and I were destined for each other because when I finally went back for it, there was just this one left. I couldn't help but do a dance.
anyway, I've decided to style this dress in 2 different ways. this is obviously the part one. Being a curvy girl means bodycon dress or skirts or whatever body hugging are my go to choices as they eccentuate my curves. I find wearing baggy clothes makes me look a lot rounder so if you are like me, try stay away from baggy baggy clothes. I paired this dress with a pair of strappy sandals, an H&m Leather jacket to give the look an edgy touch.
Be on the lookout for part 2 of how to wear this dress *does a dance*

Hey Slimthickdiva! Love this look by the way. I love body con dresses. But I never buy them.Always close...but never have the courage to. I am on the thick side of the spectrum, with a bit of a tummy. How can I pull off a body con dress without drawing too much attention to my tummy. Should I go for darker colours?? - Ru
ReplyDeleteHi Ru :) well the key to rocking a bodycon is confidence. You have to embrace your curves and trust me it's normal to have a pooch 😜😜 you could try buying a dress with prints or darker colours if they make you feel more comfy. Also go for a thicker material dress so it holds everything in place ( I find this works for me) and if you prefer the light material ones, wear some body shapers/spanks under the garment to give u tht toned look without bulging bits( I'm not really a fan of this one though). If you still feel a bit self conscious you could throw on a layer i.e a loose cardigan or blazer to give you tht polished look :) and remember , don't overthink it. Sometimes the worst is all in our heads..
